Visitors fall in love with Western North Carolina. So many want to feel themselves part of the communities where they spend so many enjoyable moments.
If you are one of those people, a great way to become part of the fabric of the mountains is to share your joy, time, and talents with a non-profit organization serving the region.
The beauty of these mountains sometimes hides the every-day needs of, and difficulties facing, the people who live and work here year round. But those struggles don’t mean that life behind the scenes is bleak. By fact, by choosing to spend even a few hours assisting those in need, you will experience first hand the caring, strength, and resilience of Appalachian people.

If you’re unable to volunteer, but still want to help, we accept donations of both food and funds. Every penny (We guess it’s nickel now.) helps feed those in need in Western North Carolina.
